The number of 5-star reviews needed to achieve a 5-star rating on Google can vary based on your current rating and the number of existing reviews. Google calculates your average star rating by adding up all your star ratings and dividing it by the total number of reviews. However, Google does not provide a specific formula or threshold for achieving a 5-star rating. Sources: 1. (Under the section "About your business's overall rating") 2. (Under the section "How Google calculates review scores")
That being said, we've noticed that for every 50 5-star reviews, most businesses might see one 1-3 star review. Most businesses when they proactively ask for reviews from their happy customers will collect 5-star reviews. With Shopper Approved, out of the tens of thousands of brands we work with they all average a 4.7 star rating overall or higher. The biggest reason for this is because Shopper Approved collects more reviews faster than any other competitors.
