NOTE: While the image on BetterBatt's website currently shows a 7.4V 1500mAh (11.1Wh) battery, it is actually a 7.4V 1600mAh (11.8Wh) as they state in the Specifications. Having just purchased the 7D Mark II for the purpose of sports photography (Aussie Rules Football), I wanted the security of longer battery reserve without the hassle of swapping out the battery during the event. So a battery grip and extra battery was needed. Canon's genuine BG-E16 Battery Grip currently retails in Australia for around $300 while their LP-E6N battery (13.4Wh) is approx $85. So to upgrade to 26.8Wh would cost $385. Ridiculous. Fortunately I came across Better Batt's website and purchased two of their batteries along with their Canon BG-E16 Battery Grip Replacement. The total cost for these three items was $132.78, including shipping! Obviously I didn't need to buy two batteries given I already had the one that came with the camera, but at $30.50 each it was a no-brainer. Two of these in the battery grip total 23.6Wh and I'll still have the original 13.4Wh battery in reserve - 37Wh total. The value is incredible - but only if it works. After one month of shooting AFL pre-season games I've no complaint whatsoever. In fact, with Security being narky about the gear you can take into AFL games (even pre-season ones!), I ended up removing the battery grip so it didn't look like I was taking in a 'Pro' camera. I was able to shoot whole games (1300-1400 frames) on a single 11.8Wh battery with it still having plenty in reserve. This augurs well for the season proper when games are approx 20-30 minutes longer. As far as the battery grip itself goes, everything works as it should. My only concern would be weather-sealing, in which case I would be using a rain-cover for the whole camera/lens anyway.

It would be a while before I can say how good this product is. On continuous servo mode, I felt the battery drained pretty fast (as compared to Canon original) but on single shot mode, it seemed to last longer.
