In 2020, my wife and I bought a log a-frame that was built in 1976. And since that time it had only been painted or stained one or two times. Last fall we used a log wash (also purchased from Western Log Home Supply) to prep the house for a new coat of protectorate in the spring. So we went with the outlast log oil and additives to protect against mildew and insects. This stuff may be a little expensive, but worth every penny. Western Log Home Supply ships your order fast, and the instructions for use and application are easy to follow. We are very happy with the results and will continue to use Western Log Home Supply for our future needs!!

My review of this product is based on the immediate results that I experienced after application as an additive to Transformation log and timber stain. The citronella scent was very strong and seemed to work the carpenter bees into a frenzy, as application was made during peak carpenter bee season in south Alabama. The stain with NBS30 was applied on Saturday. The next day I noticed a pile of sawdust on one of our logs. A fresh hole, right through the treated stain! However, when I get home every afternoon during bee season, I'm normally met by a number of the nasty borers. Monday afternoon, there was a lone carpenter bee there to greet me. I'm not thoroughly impressed based on the fresh hole bored into our log the day after application but am encouraged by the apparent reduction in the number of bees "hanging around" two days after application. I'll remain hopefully optimistic with the sight of the fresh hole weighing heavily on my mind.

I have just had our home re-stained with this product. Application was great. Coverage was impressive. Appearance is OUTSTANDING! It was only applied three days ago so longevity is yet to be determined, however; the finished product right now is an amazing improvement from our previous, tired stain. Our home is as fresh looking as it was in 2011 when we built it. The purchase price is more (x2) than the previous stain, but the appearance is better (x10) than the previous stain, even when it was new. Basing this review solely on the ease of application and appearance, I would give 10 stars if possible! I have no reason to believe that this stain will not last several years before needing to be stained again.
